InTheNextHour is an accountability tool designed to help you achieve your goals through drastic means. Built by procrastinators, for procrastinators. With this tool, you can hold yourself accountable for the tasks you need to complete by setting strict deadlines and consequences for not meeting them.
InTheNextHour operates on a simple yet powerful concept. You make a pledge and have 60 minutes to complete it. If you do not, the amount of money you've pledged will be taken right out of your bank account and donated to charity.
To get started, press the 'Make a Pledge' button above.
To make a pledge, simply open the website and you will be prompted to enter what you will do in the next hour.
If you fail to complete your pledge within the specified time, a penalty will be charged. The penalty amount can be $5, $10, or $15 depending on the severity of the pledge violation. The penalty amount is refunded if you successfully complete your pledge.
You can provide proof of your starting point by submitting a Google Doc link, photo, video, or any other relevant evidence that verifies the beginning of your task.
If you fail to complete your pledge, the penalty amount goes to a specified recipient or charity. This ensures that the money is utilized for a meaningful cause.
Once you make a pledge, a timer will start to track the progress of your pledged hour. You can also choose music to accompany your hour to enhance your focus and motivation.
